Welcome to the wonderful world of flavours

Tasting whisky, the Drink of the Gods, is all about tasting the flavours of the whisky and getting into the experience. Each dram (a tasting glass) will be determined first by the basic elements of whisky: colour, nose, body, the whisky palate and the finish.

After this exercise we will experience together the flavours of the spirits in more detail: fruity, floral, spicy and peaty and within these segments there are many sub flavours, about 80 in total.

Whisky Tasting Castle De Wittenburg

Whisky Ways was invited to organize a special whisky masterclass and tasting in the famous Castle De Wittenburg in Wassenaar. In their Sophie Restaurant we held this special whisky tasting for an exclusive group of relations of De Wittenburg.

They asked us for this special event because their Chef Jim Boctor designed a new menu for Sophie Restaurant with as theme the tastes and dishes of the world.

With this in mind we created a line-up with extraordinare single malt whisky’s from Japan, Taiwan, India and off course Ireland and Scotland.

The title of our presentation of this whisky tasting was “A whisky journey around the world.”

Jim Boctor made some very nice bites matching the tastes of the singe malt whisky’s we presented.

Any theme you can think of we can design a whisky tasting around it. Parts of the tastings are also the story about the distillery, the brands, the wood of the casks and maturation of the whisky’s and off course their tasting profiles. Success and a very pleasant evening guaranteed!
